Linda oversees the coordination and implementation of a number of noncredit programs focusing on the educational and capacity building needs of the CT nonprofit sector. Her work includes oversight of Encore! Hartford, an award- winning career transition program for seasoned professionals from the for- profit to nonprofit sector, skill- development and sector awareness courses for nonprofit emerging leaders, and a peer collaboration and shared knowledge retreat for nonprofit executive directors. Prior to joining Public Policy, Linda was Program Director, Academic Partnerships and Special Programs, Center for Continuing Studies at the Storrs campus where she served as team leader.
Along with her NLP work, she provided oversight of the day- to- day unit operations, served for 1. Program Director of the annual School for CT Assessors and Boards of Assessment Appeals, a role which she is continuing, and as administrator of CEU (Continuing Education Unit) processing for noncredit programs. Encore!Hartford offers a unique ten week program for unemployed corporate management professionals to transition to the nonprofit sector. The program is led by Dr. Lead Instructors and Faculty: Encore!Hartford is led by Dr. David Garvey, Director of the UConn Nonprofit Leadership Program. Encore!Fairfield County will be co-led.
